Wordless Wed~The last few days of summer

As we wrap up the end of summer activities and get ready for school to start again, let's take the time to enjoy the summer sky. Anyone else dreading the return of school schedules? Seriously the worst part of back to school time.

Wordless Wednesday~candy

Trick or treat! Or as I like to call it"sending your children out to beg your neighbors for candy that you can eat when they go to bed." My son's candy stash after Halloween. Anyone have recipes that use Halloween candy?

Wordless Wednesday~April showers

My Crab apple tree. My favorite part of spring. I wait from New year's Day the first day of spring until this tree blooms. I look forward every year for three days of the most gorgeous flowers. I think it's a shame it doesn't bloom longer. Some years we don't even get to see it bloom. Rain and wind are it's enemy. If only it would look like this all summer.....

P.S. This photo was taken without any filter and no editing. Just me and my macro lens. The way it should be.

Wordless Wednesday

Here's looking at you kid! Said in my best Bogart voice,of course. This is how I found my dog when I walked into the family room. My son apparently thought the dog looked better wearing an Indiana Jones hat. That dog refused to move until I took that hat off of him. Ha!

Wordless Wednesday~ teacher presents

Last month I was trying to come up with ideas for teacher presents. I wanted something thoughtful, different, and homemade. Most of all I wanted something that the teachers would like and use. I know teachers are slammed with Christmas presents and sometimes it's stuff they could do without. Years ago I found this pattern to make"melting snowmen" out of fleece. Over the years I have made several and always enjoyed personalizing them. I try to find fabric for the hat, gloves and scarf that I know is something that they like. I noticed on a couple of field trips that two of the teachers carried Vera Bradley bags. Since I have a obsession love of Vera it was a win-win. The original idea was to find two to four different Vera fabrics and match the zip id(filled with a Dunkin Donuts gift card) to the fabric. I bought this Twirly Bird Pink fabric early last year was not able to find anymore. Actually I wasn't able to find any Vera fabric. I was so bummed out! I compromised and bought zip id's that matched some fleece that I had in my fabric collection. I know. Not the same. :( I was happy with the way they turned out. Guess who will be collecting fabric throughout the year????

What do you think of these? If you were a teacher, would you have liked one?

Wordless Wednesday

All aboard the Santa express. Saturday we were going to take Bubby on the Santa Express train ride but he was sick. By Sunday morning he was feeling better and we drove the hour and half ride there. He had no clue we were going. At first Bubby didn't want to go on the train. I think he was just tired of the drive there. He perked up once we were on the train. I love this train station. Santa always takes the time for each family. Once I get a chance I want to upload some more pictures. I highly recommend doing this with your kids.

Wordless Wednesday 12/12/12

Are you Elfin kidding me? Jingle Bells toilet papered our Christmas tree. How many more days until Santa picks his naughty butt up? Is it me or does he look a little smug???

Our Star Wars advent toy today. Everyone seems to think it's a Land Cruiser of some sort. What do you think?

12/12/12 Make a wish! It's so weird to write that and even weirder knowing in my life time that will never happen again. I know a lot of people who were playing the lottery today. I'm not a lotto person but I'm kind of kicking myself for not playing today.

Did anyone play it do something special?

Wordless Wednesday

Yesterday we got a few inches of snow. Any guess on who wanted to play in the snow?? It was great snow to make a snowman with but not so great to actually play in. Now that we have had the first snow of the year, I cant wait for more. Crossing my fingers we have a white Christmas this year!

Wordless Wednesday

How do you entertain a 5 year old boy? Put him on a petal bike go cart. Last year he couldn't even petal, this year we couldn't get him off of it. What a difference a year makes!

Wordless Wednesday

I think that pesky little Elf is back! I came home from dropping my son off at school and thought I would change my blocks that said Happy Birthday to happy Halloween. This is what I found. After texting two of my daughters I still didn't have an answer who did it. Mystery was solved when my third daughter came home from school. She was trying to change the letters to say poop on a stick but didn't have enough letters. Only in my house! Haha!

Wordless Wednesday

This past weekend we went to a corn maze/farm. What was one of my son's favorite things there? This bungie launcher. It took all of his strength but he did it! I could tell by the look on his face he was so proud of himself. I know we will be doing this again.

Wordless Wednesday

Look what is back in the stores!! Last year was the first I heard about these things but I couldn't get my hands on a single bag. They were sold out everywhere I went. A twitter friend told me she saw them selling on eBay for 20.00 and more a bag! I love my chocolate but not that much. HA!! If you haven't tried them yet,I highly recommend it.

Wordless Wednesday

We spent this past weekend in the mountains at my Hubby's hunting cabin. We had all of our kids, their boyfriends, hubby's uncle, cousin and her husband. No Internet, cable,or cell service! The closest town doesn't even have fast food places or coffee shops. It has nothing but a grocery store and two dollar general stores. It's a different way of living up there. This house is our neighbor. I kept calling it the little house on the big mountain. Ha!

Wordless Wednesday

It's how I'm functioning today. I just couldn't fall a sleep last night. I'm not sure if it was the massive storm that blew through or my dog having a fit because he was crated. I managed 4 hours of sleep. Needless to say I need my caffeine today. In case you are wondering, its a cookie crumble mocha frappacino. To say it was tasty was an understatement. Delish! Oh some of the Targets, that have a Starbucks in them are running a special. If you buy a drink before 2 pm they will stamp your receipt with a drink offer. Come back anytime within 14 days and get any handcrafted beverage for ....2.00!! Yep. You read that right! Awesome deal to say the least. I got a grande frappe for 2.11. Not too shabby.

P.S How cute is that bag!

Wordless Wednesday

It's also picture less. I didn't take any pictures or edit any this week. Due to my 3 day migraine I got very little done this week. I'm still trying to catch up on emails. I hate days/weeks like that. Today was the first day I actually felt like I was back in the land of the living. Thank Goodness too. Tonight was the season finale of Dallas! You know how much I love that show. HA!!I spent most of the night flipping back and forth between that and the women's volleyball. Did you see that match??!! Awesome!

Ok. This chickie is heading to bed.

Wordless Wednesday

Saturday we went to a Cupcake shop I have been dying to go to. Unfortunately the place is a hour from our house and I just haven't had time to visit it. We got Joyful almond,Maple Bacon,The Original,Red Velvet,Maple Bacon and Apple Pie. Every single one was delish, but I have to say my favorite one was this one......
Maple Bacon. As strange as it sounds it was so gooooood! I discovered on Saturday that this place is close to the lake where we go on the wave Runner. That's not good. HA!

Happy Wednesday!
