Still Here....

I had such high hopes for today. I was going to wake up feeling 100 percent better. I was going to go to my favorite Chamilia/Vera store. I was going to have my bracelet replaced. I'm not sure if I told the story or not but my bracelet broke when I was shopping a few weeks ago. Luckily I was in my car when it happened and felt it sliding off my wrist. You can not begin to imagine how upset I was. While trying to get my bracelet replaced I was going to pick up the new Vera Bradley promotion. A really cute coin purse shaped like a heart. Do I really need a coin purse? No. Kind of. Ok. I have an obsession for coin purses. I'm not sure why but it started when I was a little girl. Purses and coin purses. You can thank my Grandmother for that. The only other person who's love was stronger than mine. Anyhoo. Let's just say when I woke up I was not 100 percent. I was barely 50 percent. My daughter yelled, yes yelled, at 4:55am could someone turn off the alarm clock. As I shot out of bed soaked in sweat,I realized Hubby's side of the bed was empty. Not a good sign. I got up and looked for him. One step into the family room and I knew. The puke bucket said it all. Two parents down. Ugh. Sad to say not much of anything got done today and I'm not holding out much hope for tomorrow either. Pray we keep this virus to ourselves and not pass it on to the rest of the kids in our house.

Night all.........

Wordless Wednesday~ teacher presents

Last month I was trying to come up with ideas for teacher presents. I wanted something thoughtful, different, and homemade. Most of all I wanted something that the teachers would like and use. I know teachers are slammed with Christmas presents and sometimes it's stuff they could do without. Years ago I found this pattern to make"melting snowmen" out of fleece. Over the years I have made several and always enjoyed personalizing them. I try to find fabric for the hat, gloves and scarf that I know is something that they like. I noticed on a couple of field trips that two of the teachers carried Vera Bradley bags. Since I have a obsession love of Vera it was a win-win. The original idea was to find two to four different Vera fabrics and match the zip id(filled with a Dunkin Donuts gift card) to the fabric. I bought this Twirly Bird Pink fabric early last year was not able to find anymore. Actually I wasn't able to find any Vera fabric. I was so bummed out! I compromised and bought zip id's that matched some fleece that I had in my fabric collection. I know. Not the same. :( I was happy with the way they turned out. Guess who will be collecting fabric throughout the year????

What do you think of these? If you were a teacher, would you have liked one?

Vera sale

Vera Bradley online has Plum Petals 50% off until Sunday. I'm not much of a purple fan but I like this one. For some odd reason I have nothing in this pattern. Umm.. might be time to get something in it. I just got back from a Vera store, not the Vera outlet, and bought my daughter something for her birthday. I can't share on here in case she still reads the blog. HA! Vera also has on sale in Vera stores, outlets and some Vera retailers Happy Snails,Tea Garden, and Boysenberry for 25% off. It's never to early to shop for Christmas presents. :) Can you tell I'm trying to get my shopping done early this year?

Have a great Saturday!
