Trick or treat! Or as I like to call it"sending your children out to beg your neighbors for candy that you can eat when they go to bed." My son's candy stash after Halloween. Anyone have recipes that use Halloween candy?

Trick or treat~A few days late
We finally had our trick or treat night. Sandy had knocked out power in our town on Monday night and left most of our area dark until yesterday.(We have some neighbors still without power.)The town decided to post pone it until Saturday. I'm still trying to figure out why they didn't move the time to earlier in the day. A new concept Trick or treat when it's still light outside or when its still warm. HA! I had one disappointed little boy on Wednesday. Me too! I worked hard on his cowboy costume and couldn't wait for him to wear it. Yea I realize the picture shows him wearing a star wars costume. A lot of our stores have been closed due to power outages and we didn't get our Halloween candy before the storm. Today we ventured out to Target and of course the Halloween stuff was marked down. I thought it would make great dress up clothes. Bubby had other ideas. Trick or treat instead. I didn't have the heart to tell him no. He loves Star Wars just as much as his Mama. :) we are now in from the cold and about to enjoy our candy.
Happy Saturday!!

Halloween
We had a first tonight. Trick or Treating while there is snow on the ground. I have to admit it was interesting to walk the neighbor in a costume with the white stuff on the ground. I did realize tonight I am not cut out to live in a cold climate that could have snow every Halloween. I was frozen by the end of the night. I think my 4 year old did better than me. The cold didn't seem to effect him at all. Confession when I was younger I wanted to live in an apartment building in NYC. I thought it was the coolest thing to be able to wear a costume without having to wear a jacket. I know. It does sound weird but I hated always having to think about coats and layers. Most people would dream about living in California. Not me. NYC. Anyone else?

I'm dreaming of a white Halloween......
What, you've never dreamed of the white stuff under your orange pumpkins? Never thought how fun would it be to go on a wagon ride in the snow? Never thought of playing let's see who can trip over the pumpkin that's hidden in the snow? Ever wonder how in the world are you going to fit a snowsuit under a costume? Or saying to the kids no running down the street because you might slip on the black ice? Me neither! Nor do I ever want to think about this stuff again. Mother nature, please keep the white stuff to yourself at least until Thanksgiving. I love watching the high school Turkey day games in the snow.
Believe or not but they are were sand cherry trees. I'm not expecting them to come back in the spring. Bummer. This storm really did a number on things. Some of our neighbors lost their electric yesterday and were told they won't have it back on until TUESDAY! Not acceptable.

Bummed.....sort of
We have had so many plans today. First we were going to do the movies. Followed by trick or treating. Then a costume dance/contest. Did I mention everything takes place at an outdoor mall??? Or the fact we are getting snow today? It actually started snowing 2 hours ago. It's not sticking to the ground. Yet. I am totally bummed. Bubby was looking so forward to the Halloween fun. I'm watching the snow fall and fight the urge to play Christmas music. Guess this means playing in the snow later. Best part.
