Dec 2- second day of Elf

Day 2 of the 25 wonderful days of Jingle Bells found the pesky dude hanging out on my bakers rack. He did absolutely nothing wrong but he also brought absolutely nothing either. My son was very quick to point that out.

Day two of the Star Wars Lego calendar brought us this guy. Who I have no idea his name. At least I didn't have to google his directions like that jet fighter thingy.

I also remembered to do the other advent calendar tonight. Snaps for Mommy!

After months of speculating something was wrong with our friends we learned we were right. Unfortunately. They are separating. I feel horrible. Please keep them in your prayers. They have two children and it's been hard on all of them. The upcoming holidays are making it worse.

My heart hurts today.....

Last night while I was in the shower my oldest daughter received a phone from her friend. Yesterday afternoon one of their co workers was killed in a car accident while she had two of her kids in the car as well as her daughters boyfriend. Her ten year old son, who also has Autism, was severely injured as well. The daughter and her boyfriend suffered moderate injuries. The other car's passengers also suffered several injuries. I can't begin to tell you the emotions/thoughts running thru my head right now. I haven't been able to concentrate much today. I'm praying for the family today to find the strength to get thru this. I pray that their children and other passengers are ok. Most of all I pray that they can somehow explain all of this to their autistic son.

Hug your loved ones a little tighter today because you never know what tomorrow will bring.......

Weekend with friends..........

This past weekend we did two things we love to do. Camping and hanging out with our friends. 6 years ago we bought our first camper after friends of ours did. I remember looking at all the campers and thinking are we nuts? Hubby grew up camping. I did not. In fact my Dad's idea of roughing it was a hotel with no room service. So how does a girl like me start camping in the first place? A nature loving hubby. That's how. A thing that started out with just two families has grown. This past weekend we had four families with us. Next camping trip we will have seven families with us. How do we keep getting families to go with us? Easy. You have your kid tell their kid how much fun it is. Then their child nags them to get a camper or to go camping. Not that I would ever encourage such behavior. That would be totally wrong. I do have to warn you,if you camp with us at some point of the weekend it will rain. Rain hard.

Our first time out

I survived the night without Bubby. He is almost Two and never was with a sitter before. Actually the grandparents watched him but it was the first time. I never go anywhere without him.  I know cut the apron strings. He apparently had a great time.

Can I say we had a fabulous time last night? It was so nice to meet up with old friends. I am hoping we will reconnect with D and his wife. Our kids miss hanging out with theirs. We are planning a little shindig of our own. So who knows.
