I think as Moms we forget to take the time out to do something fun just for us. It doesn't have to be anything grand. It could just be enjoying a cup of coffee by yourself or with friends. Or maybe just getting your nails done. A small activity to recharge your batteries. Yesterday I had a rare chance to hang out with some great friends. Our county was sponsoring a tour of local shops in the area to visit. The shops would offer special deals and sometimes games to play. Snacks and beverages completed the tour. While we girls all had a rare opportunity to get out,our locals shops got our business. Win. Win. To me the best part of the tour was checking out new places many of which I have never heard about. We all spent the day laughing and talking about making this an annual event. Although the tour was designed to help local businesses it was us it helped more.
Reconnect. Recharge.

I need a few more days....,
Today's elf antics. I can believe Christmas is in 2 days. Where did the time go??? And yes we will be out tomorrow shopping. We have all taken turns this past month with some funky sinus/allergy thing. Hubby is currently sick with it again. Needless to say we have a ton of things to do yet. Did I mention my Sister in law decided at the last minute to go in with the girls?? We only found out her flight time yesterday. Ugh.

Monday after Christmas
I hope everyone had a great Christmas. We spent the day shopping with two of our kids today. We have this tradition of shopping the day after sales. Even Hubby takes the day off from work. I have all of my kids home for Christmas vacation and my two nieces are visiting from Minnesota. I'm not sure how much blogging I will be doing this week. Hope to catch up with everyone soon......

I finally broke down......
and went jean shopping. I hate jean shopping. I have put that off for as long as I possibly could. I am talking my jeans had wear out marks on the knees. Oh I kept making excuses. I'll lose some weight and then I can buy them in a smaller size. Or I'll just wait until they are on sale. Nope. Had to do it yesterday. I was starting to look like a rag-a-muffin. So I walked into the department store. Looked around and suddenly remembered why I hate jean shopping. Nothing ever fits right. The color is always wrong. Can we talk about the price of jeans. HELLO. I think anything over 30 dollars is way too much for jeans. After about a hour of looking I found three pairs to try on. Only three. You guessed it. I only found one pair that fit my tough standards. I did look to see if they had another pair exactly like those, after all I wasn't coming back for jeans again. Nope. Did I tell you I was also shopping with my 20 month old? Oh yea.
