Winter snow and winter Vera sales

I'm just popping in for a bit. Sorry I haven't been on in a few days. My sister and law and nieces flew home yesterday and we have been trying to catch up on things. We got another snow storm today and of course had to go out and play in it. :) We had some snow on Christmas Eve but it was gone by Christmas morning. Another storm came in a day later but didn't produce much. This storm only dumped a few inches. Just enough to make everything look pretty against the Christmas lights and a 5 year old boy happy. Very happy.

Vera Bradley is having an online sale. 40 percent off certain retired winter fabrics and bags and free shipping on orders more than 75.00. I thought I would pass that along in case their was something Santa didn't leave under your tree. ;)

Hope everyone had a great Christmas with their family........

Wordless Wednesday

Our completed Star Wars Lego advent calendar. I can't begin to tell you how much joy this brought us. My son looked forward every morning to opening it and getting another Lego to put together. I just looked forward to something I could actually put together. Some of these sets were hard. Haha! I think we will do another one next year. Totally worth it!

The reason for the season....

I want to wish each and everyone of you a very Merry Christmas. I hope you are enjoying it with your family and friends. We will have a very full house today and I am so looking forward to it! Chaos and all! HAHA! Remember today isn't about the presents we got or didn't get but about a baby who was born. This is something I have tried to instill in my kids from a very young age.
Does anyone have a white Christmas????

Christmas Eve

Yea! Finally got the Christmas Yoda! My son looked for this piece every day. He could not wait for it. Ok. I was just as excited. Haha!

Christmas eve eve

I knew it wasn't a good sign to see Jingle Bells holding markers. I was right. He had a little fun with the markers and our pictures. UGH!
Apparently he thinks we all look better with mustaches on our faces. Pesky thing! Santa better pick him up tomorrow or else I'm hiking to the North Pole with him strapped to my back.

I forgot to add our Star Wars advent piece of the day. I'm not sure if anyone else is stressing from the holidays but I can't wait for it to be over. I am so tired! Funny story. Our church had a Christmas Eve Eve service today. Our pastor while giving the sermon asks everyone what is the best part of Christmas. My son in his loudest voice stands up with his hands in the air and shouts"presents". Yep most of the church was cracking up over that. HAHA!

Happy Christmas Eve Eve!

I need a few more days....,

Today's elf antics. I can believe Christmas is in 2 days. Where did the time go??? And yes we will be out tomorrow shopping. We have all taken turns this past month with some funky sinus/allergy thing. Hubby is currently sick with it again. Needless to say we have a ton of things to do yet. Did I mention my Sister in law decided at the last minute to go in with the girls?? We only found out her flight time yesterday. Ugh.

Snowmen and the elf

This is where we found our pesky friend this morning. Meeting of the snow people? Makes me very nervous!

Star Wars advent lego of the day. I believe its the Falcon. Yea?

P.S. The snowmen are teacher presents I made. I'll blog more about them later.

Elf strikes again....

I was at my sewing machine sewing up teacher presents when I heard my 5 year olds voice. Mommy my elf made a mess. He was sneaking again. Yes he was! Toothpaste every where. Seriously can't wait for Santa to pick him up. Ugh!

This was our Star Wars advent calendar piece today. I never would have thought he would enjoy that so much. Honestly it's the first thing he asks to do when he wakes up in the morning. Even at 6am. Love it!

So had anyone been preparing for the end of the world tomorrow? I haven't even thought about it until today. I have too much going on to have to prepare for something else. I might have time next week. ;)
Night....

Wordless Wednesday

All aboard the Santa express. Saturday we were going to take Bubby on the Santa Express train ride but he was sick. By Sunday morning he was feeling better and we drove the hour and half ride there. He had no clue we were going. At first Bubby didn't want to go on the train. I think he was just tired of the drive there. He perked up once we were on the train. I love this train station. Santa always takes the time for each family. Once I get a chance I want to upload some more pictures. I highly recommend doing this with your kids.

It didn't feel like a typical Monday...

Bubby didn't go to school on Friday due to his allergies( we think). Today was our first day back since the tragedy and the kids in Connecticut weighed heavy on my mind. I couldn't help but wonder how the parents were handling today. Were they wishing for a do over for Friday or wishing Monday never came. My heart aches for these parents. I wish there were some words of comfort I could offer but I know that's not what they want. They just want their children back. I pray they find comfort. Our schools had police offers posted and a school in another district went into lock down. I pray these innocent children and adults did not die in vain. It's time for America to wake up and realize we have a huge problem on our hands because if we don't this could unfortunately happen again. Tomorrow in honor of the victims the blogger world is going dark. We will not post for 24 hours or least try not to.
Chat on Wednesday.....

So tired tonight..

This going to be a quick post of pictures tonight. Bubby was sick most of the weekend and honestly the news has been depressing me as well. We did Santa express today. The little guy had no clue until we got there. So surprised. I'll post pictures tomorrow. I just realized I never took a picture of jingle bells today. Ugh!
Hope everyone had a great weekend.

Day15

Our Star Wars Advent calendar Lego toys for yesterday and today. I'll have to post what the elf did some time later. I already shut down my computer for the night. I've been blogging thru my phone this past month not the easiest thing do. Bubby spent most of the day lying on the couch. We are not sure if it's a cold or allergies. We missed out on the Santa train ride today. Poor thing. Today I just spent thinking about all of those families at Sandy Hook. I just can't wrap my brain around this horrible event yet.
Have a great night!

Prayers for the children

My thoughts and prayers are with the families in CT tonight. May they find some sort of peace and comfort tonight. May the families begin their healing process. Tonight I have very few words. Please say a prayer tonight for everyone involved.

Wordless Wednesday 12/12/12

Are you Elfin kidding me? Jingle Bells toilet papered our Christmas tree. How many more days until Santa picks his naughty butt up? Is it me or does he look a little smug???

Our Star Wars advent toy today. Everyone seems to think it's a Land Cruiser of some sort. What do you think?

12/12/12 Make a wish! It's so weird to write that and even weirder knowing in my life time that will never happen again. I know a lot of people who were playing the lottery today. I'm not a lotto person but I'm kind of kicking myself for not playing today.

Did anyone play it do something special?

Deer me.....

Umm...Jingle Bells that deer is not one of Santa's reindeer that will take you back to the North Pole. Even you don't have that much magic in you.

Today we found this dude in our calendar. Bubby loves when we get the Lego people instead of the ships. Me too! These are so much easier to put together.
Today My oldest daughter,Bubby and I went shopping at our outdoor mall or Promenade as some people call it. I love the setting of this place. It is surrounded by mountains. I have to try and get a picture next time I am there. This is the Christmas tree in the town's fountain. (Yes. You read that right. In the summer they turn the fountain on for the kids to run thru it.)This thing is huge! Next to it is a gazebo where Santa does pictures on the weekends. It also happens to be right next to Starbucks. A nice little bonus for the parents. :)

One of these years I will get my son's picture taken here.It gets crazy busy here on the weekends. I love the concept of having a picture with Santa in front of this fireplace. I did notice today they do have space heaters to warm up the gazebo.
Our lunch today! Sometimes you have to eat dessert first. :) Not only does this place have a Starbucks they also have a Nestle toll house cafe. The smell of this place is unbelievable.

I say judging from their faces they agree. Dessert should always be first!
Have a great night!

Story time with Jingle Bells

Today Jingle Bells spent the day reading his friends a story. He was so quiet and blended on the shelf, we couldn't find him for much of the day.

Bubby found this Star Wars in his calendar. Hubby had to tell me it was Darth Vader's little ship. I'm not sure if we will be doing another Star Wars advent next year. This one has been so tough! I am so use to being a Barbie/brats mom that these Legos have been so challenging. Ha!

I realized this morning that it's 15 days until Christmas and I'm not sure if I am ready for it. I have so much wrapping to do and I still have 2 trees that I have to put up yet. The only cookies I have baked so far were the ones for our cookie exchange. I am such a slacker this year! Ha! Bubby had been bouncing off the walls. He has managed to get himself in trouble two days in a row at school. Sensory issues are tough on normal days but add the excitement of Christmas and it is rough!

Ok. Time to watch the Country awards. Have a great night!

Rainy day Sunday

Today found our pesky little friend hanging off our chandelier. He made me a nervous wreak up there. I just had visions of someone turning on the fan and either taking his little head off or just sending him airborne. I'm already on Santa's naughty list. The little dude over heard me say if JingleBells didn't stop his little antics I was going to kick his magical little butt back to the North Pole. Bubby got a call from Santa yesterday and ratted me out!

Can you blame me? First he leaves a powered sugar mess and then he thinks he's getting my coffee! Seriously that's just taking your life in your own hands. :)

We found this in our Star Wars Advent calender. I think it's the x-fighter. Or something like that.

We also made it to church today. The first time in months. I know. I know. No excuses to miss it. Bubby is no longer in the pre school classes. He is now in the kindergarten class and I was so nervous on how he would be. He seemed to really enjoy it! While we were there Hubby's dad was telling us who the guest speaker is going to be in the spring. Ready???? Drum roll..........Tim Tebow! Last spring we had George Bush so this doesn't surprise me. Our church has a knack of getting great speakers. I will have to do a separate blog post on our church because you will not believe the size of it. Let's just say we have our own coffee shop in it complete with a full size jungle gym. The kind you find at fast food places. Wait until you hear about the youth group wing! Wish my church growing up was like this one.

Have a great Sunday!

Elfing around.....Day 8

Today found our friend Jingle Bells making a mess. I woke up to this lovely mess in the kitchen. Please don't let that innocent looking face fool you. If you look closer you will notice he has powered sugar on his nose. I guess I shouldn't complain too much he did leave chocolate milk this time.

In our Star Wars calendar we finally found Luke Skywalker!!! Ok. Maybe it was more me than Bubby who was excited about that. When he opened the number 8 and saw Luke's picture on the flap and handed me the Lego pack I knew we had a problem. There was no way that package was Luke. The company must have put the wrong Lego pack in it. As luck would have it Bubby had to go to the bathroom. When he left the room I opened the big box to the advent and started looking thru all the trays until I found Luke. :) I just put the one we took out of the calendar in that date slot. I really hope that was the right one or else we are going to have fun looking for the right one. Haha!
Today was our 4th annual neighborhood cookie party exchange. I love when our hood gets together for parties. We really do have a great group of friends. This year we had some new neighbors so that made it even better. I realized when I got home I didn't take any pictures with my camera. I guess I was too busy eating. Ha!
Hope everyone had a great Saturday!

Just hanging around....

Day 7 found our little Elf hanging on the chandelier. We also found this in our Star Wars Advent calendar. Some sort of thing to hold the weapons?? Haha! If anyone knows what it is please let me know.

Day 5 of Peter Jingle Bells and the Star Wars advent.

Day 4~Up on a Ladder

Day 4 found Jingle Bells hanging out on a ladder on the wall. I have had a migraine for the last few days so luckily Jingle bells has been being nice to me and not making messes. Oh, Bubby decided to change his name to Peter. He's really into Peter Pan these days. I've been calling Elf Peter Jingle Bells. HaHa!

We also found this strange Star Wars Lego. I thought I knew everything Star Wars until I started this calendar. Every day I'm finding myself clueless. Ha!

So where did you find your Elf today?

Dec 3~it was Elf with the candlestick in the family room..

Day 3 found our pesky little friend on the candle stick in the family room. I think it was to keep a closer eye on all of us.

Bubby got this in his Star Wars advent. I have no clue what it is. Any ideas?

The red advent brought him Swedish fish. I'm sure sometime in the next hour I will regret that. Ha!

We had an usually warm December day today. 65 degrees. Way too warm for this time of year. Of course it left me with a horrible migraine so I believe it will be a shower and bed for this gal soon. Very soon.
