Day 2 of the 25 wonderful days of Jingle Bells found the pesky dude hanging out on my bakers rack. He did absolutely nothing wrong but he also brought absolutely nothing either. My son was very quick to point that out.
Day two of the Star Wars Lego calendar brought us this guy. Who I have no idea his name. At least I didn't have to google his directions like that jet fighter thingy.
I also remembered to do the other advent calendar tonight. Snaps for Mommy!
After months of speculating something was wrong with our friends we learned we were right. Unfortunately. They are separating. I feel horrible. Please keep them in your prayers. They have two children and it's been hard on all of them. The upcoming holidays are making it worse.

December 1st
Look who came back for the holiday season. Again. That pesky little Elf. At least this time he brought gifts. Last year all he did was cause trouble. Because it is December 1st it also means something else came for the holidays. The Advent calendar.
Bubby is always excited about this. He remindsbugs us non stop about opening a door each day. Let's hope I remember to fill it each day. As if an Elf and an advent calendar weren't enough to remember to do each night,I added another advent calendar.
Behold the Star Wars Lego calendar. Behind each door is a Lego set to put together. I was thinking the same thing. This woman either really loves Christmas or she is a nutcase. My money is on the nutcase. There is no way I am going to remember to move that Elf every night or put stuff in that red calendar or put Lego sets together.
P.S. funny story about the Star Wars calendar. Bubby opened the 1st door and pulled out the little pack of Lego's. I'm looking at the bag and wondering what the heck it makes. No directions. No picture. I do what any Mom would do who doesn't have a clue. I google the calendar. After looking for a while I found a video on the calender. As the woman is talking about the calendar I happen to notice that the picture of what its suppose to be is on the back of the 1st door! I can't believe I missed that. HA!
Anyone else do calendars?

Wordless Wednesday
Yesterday we got a few inches of snow. Any guess on who wanted to play in the snow?? It was great snow to make a snowman with but not so great to actually play in. Now that we have had the first snow of the year, I cant wait for more. Crossing my fingers we have a white Christmas this year!

Trick or treat~A few days late
We finally had our trick or treat night. Sandy had knocked out power in our town on Monday night and left most of our area dark until yesterday.(We have some neighbors still without power.)The town decided to post pone it until Saturday. I'm still trying to figure out why they didn't move the time to earlier in the day. A new concept Trick or treat when it's still light outside or when its still warm. HA! I had one disappointed little boy on Wednesday. Me too! I worked hard on his cowboy costume and couldn't wait for him to wear it. Yea I realize the picture shows him wearing a star wars costume. A lot of our stores have been closed due to power outages and we didn't get our Halloween candy before the storm. Today we ventured out to Target and of course the Halloween stuff was marked down. I thought it would make great dress up clothes. Bubby had other ideas. Trick or treat instead. I didn't have the heart to tell him no. He loves Star Wars just as much as his Mama. :) we are now in from the cold and about to enjoy our candy.
Happy Saturday!!

Sandy
We are back............After several days of no cable,Internet, phone we are finally back up and running. Some of our neighbors are not as lucky. Part of our neighborhood is still without power. UGH! The date keeps changing when they will get electric turned back on. Did I mention it is getting colder here. It's amazing the things you miss when you don't have cable. I am so glad I missed all the news footage of the Jersey shore. It would have made me cry to see where I spent my childhood was no longer there. I also have 200 emails to read. Double ugh!Yesterday was the first day some of my kids went back to school. Today is Bubby's first day back. He finally gets to wear his Halloween costume to school and have his parade and party. We still have restaurants and grocery stores without power. Please pray that things can get back to normal for everyone and that they can rebuild. I still have family and friends who live there.
I am off to school and running errands. I hope to post updates soon!
Hope everyone is safe and has power turned back on.

Sandy the Frankenstorm
We have secured everything we can.
We bought food to snack on.
We bought bottle water.
We bought some more games to play.
Puzzles to put together.
We bought more batteries for flashlights.
The one thing we couldn't buy was a generator because no one had one to buy.
Now we sit and wait.
Wait to see if we lose electric.
Wait to see if we flood out.
Wait to see how pleasant Sandy is going to be to us.
Wait to see if another storm front is going to collide with Sandy and turn it into the Perfect storm.
Wait to see how much damage we will have due to wind and rain.
Schools have closed for the rest of today and tomorrow.
Stay safe my friends.
The East coast is about to get ugly.
I hate waiting.......

Aloha Friday
It's Friday and that can only mean one thing. It's time once again for Island's life question of the week.
Do you find Social networking a blessing or a curse? We have seen it both ways in our house. I love the fact I can keep up with family and friends via facebook or twitter but boy has it bit us on the butt too. Hubby learned that the most innocent of posts can lead to talks with the boss. Funny thing he wasn't even friends with his boss but someone he works with said something to the boss. He has since deleted everyone he works with. Last month I learned thru facebook that my Mom's brother had died. My uncle's son had posted how his Dad had passed on. Everyone else had gotten phone calls including my grandmother's sister and another uncle's ex wife. They had been divorced for 10 years! Yep. Someone forgot to tell me. I just chalk it up to lessons learned. Let's face it we never had this type of social networking before. I'm thinking by the time our kids are our age they will have it perfected! Maybe??
Don't forget to head over to Island's life and answer her question of the week!
